Year 11 Support
The attachments, that can be downloaded below, are support packs created by Woodlane staff to aid Year 11 pupils in their preparation for their final year at secondary school.
We hope the information included will support pupils and offer advice for parents/carers to help all pupils feel better prepared and be more successful during their GCSE and Entry Level examinations. Some exam stress is common, but by working together, much of this can be managed through good preparation.Pupils are expected to complete homework regularly using our platform Firefly to ensure they can continue to develop and cement their learning beyond the classroom.
We advise all pupil and their parents/carers to view both the subject specific support pack and the study guide document, and start revising as early as possible. This will eliminate some stress, anxiety, panic and improve grades. How well each pupil achieves will depend on how much effort is put into classwork, controlled assessments and preparation for exams.
In addition to the above, Year 11 will have a variety of sessions to support their transition every Thursday, these include fundamental life skills; cooking, budgeting, social communication and preparing for work activities. Pupils will attend their college link programme following October half-term, where they will be undertaking a variety of projects and experiencing college life.
