Cultural Capital

Cultural Capital is “the essential knowledge that pupils need to be educated citizens, introducing them to the best that has been thought and said and helping to engender an appreciation of human creativity and achievement.”

Ofsted 2019:

Woodlane aims to construct a curriculum that is ambitious and designed to give all learners, including SEND and the most disadvantaged, the knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed in life.

The document available for download below should be read alongside the subject curriculum maps to gain a full understand of the curriculum offer at Woodlane High School. The following map is not exhaustive as all pupils receive personalised support, however it provides an overview of the provision pupils’ will experience throughout their time at Woodlane. The impact of these activities is also included below.

Woodlane has used a Universal, Targeted and Specialist model of identifying the provision available.
