Outcomes for Pupils – Impact Report 2022/23

Executive Summary

Woodlane High School is an outstanding school as judged by Ofsted in May 19. “All pupils make sustained and substantial progress from their starting points. Year 11 pupils achieve well...” 

Outcomes achieved by pupils in 2023 continue to demonstrate that achievement is outstanding.

Year 11 Outcomes Headline Results:

  • The proportion of pupils exceeding expectations rose by overall by 9.54% when compared to last year with 77.54% of pupils exceeding.
  • 95.72% of pupils met expectations which is a small dip of  1.28% from last year.
  • 100% of pupils met expectations in Art, DT, Maths, English, Languages, PE and Humanities qualifications.
  • Art, DT, PE, Languages, and Computing met the school’s threshold overall for ‘Oustanding’ achieving over 80% in meeting and 50% in exceeding expectations.
  • Science achieved a majority (50%+) of pupils exceeding expectations, the highest science has ever achieved.

The graph below highlights the year on year trend for exam results. Results in 2022/23 demonstrates a slight dip of 1.28% in the proportion meeting expectations. The proportion of pupils exceeding expectations increased by 9.54% and remains among the highest proportion achieved by the school. The data in both meeting and exceeding aligns almost identical to that of 2018/2019 with meeting expectations demonstrating just over 1% higher than pre-pandemic achievement and exceeding aligning within 0.5%.
