Return to School Announcement - Jan 2021
Update following the Government announcement - 30/12/20.
31st December 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
Re: Government Announcement on School Reopening – January 2021
I hope you and your families are safe and well, and have enjoyed a good break so far, despite the many challenges.
I am sure you will already be aware of the Government announcement last night, which has delayed the reopening of all secondary schools. This announcement has also closed the majority of primary schools across London, including in Hammersmith and Fulham where Covid-19 transmission rates remain extremely high.
After discussions with Hammersmith & Fulham and the Governing Body of Woodlane, we are all in agreement that cases are too high in London to simply welcome all pupils back immediate without testing fully established. While we set up this completely new process with limited support, we will follow the national guidance for secondary schools and Woodlane will remain closed to the vast majority of pupils next week. All pupils will receive remote learning when not able to attend school.
- Pupils in KS4 are now due to return on Monday 11th January.
- Pupils in KS3 are now due to return on Monday 18th January.
I am sorry for the timing of this letter, but we are only able to respond to information as it is released nationally. I am sure for some this news may be frustrating, but we believe we are making the right choice for the health of our whole school community.
We will now plan for opening only for the children of critical workers and those who are on child protection plans during the first week. We will send out further information about this limited provision later on today, but please contact school by email if you are a critical worker and require access to this provision.
Please continue to check your emails over the coming days as we plan for the new term in a different way to the one we were expecting.
