DfE Employment and Apprenticeships
On Tuesday the 10th of March , Year 10 and Year 11 pupils, as well as some parents, took part in a workshop ran by the Department for Education at Woodlane High School.
3 employees and 1 apprentice attended school to detail what the DfE can offer pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. There are numerous employment opportunities within the whole of the Civil Service, including full-time employment, specific job roles and apprenticeship schemes.
Pupils were particularly happy about the option of an assisted apprenticeship in the future and many Woodlane pupils will be exploring these areas further. The workshop was a big success and we look forward to a future cooperation with the DoE.
Thank you to all the staff who attended from the DfE. It was a pleasure to hear their personal success stories and it has provided a boost to pupil confidence regarding future employment opportunities.
