Parent Satisfaction Survey 2026

Results of the recent Parent Satisfaction Survey 2026
The following is a summary of parents/carers' answers.
See the full report at the bottom of the page for further information.
Across the survey, parents/carers provided very positive feedback to the school, with 100% of parents responding positively to 13 out of the 21 questions. A further 4 were at 94%/95%.
In the core survey, the highest scoring questions were:
- The school site is safe – 90% strongly agree, (100% agree).
- When I contact the school, the staff are helpful and approachable - 90% strongly agree, (100% agree).
- I would recommend the school to another parent of a child with special educational needs - 85% strongly agree, (100% agree).
- The school has a calm and positive atmosphere – 70% strongly agree, (100% agree)
- The school engages well with parents/carers - 70% strongly agree, (100% agree)
The lowest scoring questions were:
- My child receives relevant and regular homework – 74% agree, (down 8% from the last survey in 2024). 4 parents disagreed, and one strongly disagreed.
- The school provides a healthy and mixed menu for school dinners - 73% agree. 4 parents disagreed, but no one strongly disagreed. 5 parents said this question was not applicable to them.
Questions that require further investigation/understanding:
- My child benefits from the positive behaviour policy and enjoys getting merits – 85% agree, 3 parents disagree but no one strongly disagrees. It is unclear what parents are reporting to us here and further discussion with those parents would be beneficial.
- The school helps prepare pupils for an independent life – 78% agree, 3 parents disagree and one strongly disagrees. As such a core part of the school’s offer, this question is supposed to encourage parents to reflect on the work of the school in relation to their child’s future and independence. However, it is likely the question has instead been answered from the point of view of whether the child will ever be able to live independently. Further investigation is required.
Parent and carer feedback was very positive, with regular reference to the curriculum, supportive staff and a safe environment. Key themes within improvement comments related to specific provision for individual pupils, e.g. technology, handwriting, speech and language and OT support.
Parent satisfaction regarding the website has fallen from 100% (2024) to 85% (2026).
Parent satisfaction with transition arrangements has risen from 95% (2024) to 100% (2026).
Actions:
- Offer a parent reference group related to homework and ensure the school’s policy reflects the wants and needs of parents as well as pupils/staff.
- Continue engagement of parents regarding school lunches, including ‘launch’ of new menu in February.
- Open direct discussions with parents who answered disagree to the independence and behaviour questions, asking for more information about their views.
- Run a staff training session on independence in April.
- Book parent training sessions as per top 3 suggestions.
