26th February 2021
Dear Parents and Carers
Re: Next Week and the Return to School
I hope this letter finds you safe and well. I wanted to provide a little more information about the return to school, and next week’s home learning planning.
Meetings Next Week:
To gain some information about both the return to school and mass testing, you are encouraged to come to various meetings next week.
- Please join us for a Question & Answer session about Mass Testing in School on Monday 1st March via Teams at 1.30pm. This session will be in the usual ‘parent information’ slot. You can find a link in your child’s Firefly account, or within the letter emailed.
- Please join us for an information session about Returning to School via Teams on Friday 5th March at 1.30pm. This session will take place in the usual ‘games’ session on the Friday and will be followed by some fun activities for pupils. You can find a link in your child’s Firefly account, or within the letter emailed.
- If you cannot attend these sessions, we will publish the information online after the session allowing you to review with your child before we return.
Return to School:
Pupils will return to school on the following dates:
Key Stage 3: (Years 7, 8 and 9) will return on Monday 8th March
Key Stage 4: (Years 10 and 11) will return on Tuesday 9th March
Pupils should not be on site until 8.30am to allow the testing of staff to take place.
Please note, KS4 pupils who have been attending our Critical Worker and Vulnerable Pupil Provision will still be expected to attend on the Monday.
For a summary of the most recent Government announcement, please click here. Please ensure you continue to follow all guidance issued during this slow relaxing of Covid-19 rules.
To find out how we are keeping your child safe, please refer to the letter sent earlier this week and/or read our risk assessment by clicking here.
On our return, we will be trying to hit the ground running with targeted interventions focused on each pupil’s specific needs. We will also engage pupils in wider tasks that we know will have a positive impact on the learning and wellbeing of the whole school.
To help us do this, we ask all parents to respond to the following survey before Friday 5th March, providing us with valuable information about your child’s progress and wellbeing during January and February.
Follow the link within your email to access this survey.
Consent forms have been sent home and these continue to be returned to us. To enable us to complete testing on the pupil’s return without delay, please complete the form. Alternatively, you can call the school to complete over the phone in approximately 2 minutes.
We hope next week is our final week of Live Learning this term. Please attend all sessions outlined in the timetable. The links were sent by email and personalised by year group, requiring you to log in to Firefly to access.
When you open the timetable, simply click on the title of the lesson to open the Microsoft Teams page or the app. Please use the pupil’s name rather than a nickname or your name when joining, as they may not be admitted.
I look forward to seeing you all very soon.
