Safeguarding and Child Protection

At Woodlane High School the safety and protection of our pupils is paramount.  The school follows rigorous safeguarding procedures and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.  All staff regularly complete training and are clear on school policies and expectations.

Child protection is a sensitive area and is particularly complex when supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN), given their increased vulnerabilities.  At Woodlane we work in partnership with a variety of support agencies, including for example, Children’s Services, the police, CAMHS and Respond etc. working together to achieve the best possible outcomes for each of our pupils.

We place a high value on the support of parents/carers and believe that we can best serve our pupils by working as a team.  We have an open door policy and encourage parents/carers to share any concerns they may have directly with Claire Maynard the Headteacher or Rob Morgan the Deputy Headteacher (Designated Child Protection Lead).  Concerns are always taken seriously and in consultation with other agencies, we will ensure we take the most appropriate action which is in the best interest of the pupil(s).

Should you have any concerns or are simply keen to meet with the child protection and safeguarding lead please call the school office to book an appointment.  If you should need to contact us urgently outside of school hours or during school holidays please email admin@woodlane.lbhf.sch.uk and we will endeavour to contact you as soon as possible.
