Peer Support Programme

The Peer Support Programme is a peer led, skills based learning experience.

It is designed to provide students with a supportive learning environment and develop leadership skills. It also helps to create more positive communication and relationships between Year 7 and Year 11 pupils.   Year 11 pupils apply to become mentors and if selected they undergo training to become supportive leaders. After the initial training day the pupils will need to plan a variety of sessions which they will lead. At the start of the next academic year, Year 11 pupils will be assigned to a small group of Year 7 pupils to conduct these sessions. The sessions run for approximately eight weeks and take place once a week during a tutor session. The feedback from past sessions has been extremely positive.
