Maths Homework

Reward comes after hard work.

  • All pupils receive homework on a weekly basis and it is important that this is completed to consolidate their learning. If a pupil is absent from class or they have misplaced their homework, they will need to collect it from the maths classroom or download it from the website.
  • Most pupils should also be practising their times-tables, as this will help to develop their understanding of more advanced work.
  • All pupils have been signed up to Mathletics and MyMaths and have been provided with their own login details. It is usually written or stuck in the back of their school diary.

Mathletics is a fun and interactive learning resource aligned to the National Curriculum. It includes targeted, adaptive and engaging content from KS1 to KS4, designed to meet the requirements of the curriculum, with reporting and assessments to match. Pupils compete with classmates and other schools to accumulate points and certificates.

MyMaths is a fully interactive, online mathematics learning solution for children of all ages and abilities. It helps pupils develop their understanding of maths through a variety of engaging activities, games and assessments. Pupils can complete homework online set by the teacher and receive instant feedback.

  • Year 10-11 GCSE pupils are encouraged to loan a MathsWatch DVD from school. This gives them access to a wide range of video clips and worksheets for every topic in the new GCSE curriculum.
  • Year 11 GCSE pupils have the opportunity to attend maths club for 1 hour every Friday after school. There is also an option for these pupils to attend a 2 hour maths session every Saturday morning, where they are taught in small groups by qualified maths tutors.
